What is Cheekis Interiors style?
Updated: Oct 20, 2022
My design style has definitely evolved over the last decade. For many years, I designed spaces for the client, which means I focused on showcasing their personal story and often worked within a design style that I did not personally call my own.
While living in Chicago so much of my work was "mid century modern." I do love and appreciate the furniture and design elements that stem from that period but ultimately I got sick of it.

I thought it would be a good idea to showcase my own style. I take a lot of inspiration from my personal life having lived in North America, Australia and Europe. I like to blend modern mediterranean elements with Scandinavian style and contemporary lighting.
I collect various pieces of furniture, art, lighting and textiles from my travels. Ultimately, I like my home to feel well traveled. If I had to give it a name, I would say my style is "Eclectic European!"

I live in Europe so I go to a lot of Antique shops because there is nothing better than a good blend of old and new. I also love open spaces with layers of textures and organic shapes.
I encourage using color but I've always thought mother nature was the best artist so my personal color palette is earthy.

I'm curious, what is your favorite design style? Where do you get your inspiration?
